Rob graduated from Bristol University, completing his four year degree in Law and French, which included a year’s study at Poitiers University in France. After undertaking the legal practice course at the College of Law, Guildford and a training contract at a Legal 500 law firm in Suffolk, Rob joined the Family team at Phillips in 2007.  In 2012, Rob was promoted to Associate.

Rob deals with all aspects of family law and has experience resolving a wide range of matters concerning cohabitation, relationship breakdown and children. He has a particular interest and experience in dealing with more complex financial cases, typically involving family businesses, pensions, inherited assets, trust arrangements. Following recent legal developments, Rob is dealing with a growing number of cohabitation and pre-nuptial agreements.

As a member of Resolution (formerly the Solicitors Family Law Association), Rob aims to resolve disputes in a constructive and non-confrontational manner. In line with this, Rob has trained as a collaborative lawyer and is helping to pioneer, in the Basingstoke area, this alternative way of resolving family disputes. Collaborative law brings separating couples together in four-way meetings with their lawyers, with the aim of reaching an amicable solution, especially in arrangements for their children and/or finances, and without the need to attend court.  Rob is chair of the local collaborative group known as the North Hants Collaborative Pod (  He represents the group at national level and has spoken at Relate and on BBC local radio.

Rob is increasingly acting for a wide range of international clients (from the Middle East and Far East in particular) and he welcomes receiving instructions from expatriates based overseas who retain links with the UK and who may be seeking to resolve their divorce in accordance with English law.

Rob has been singled out for praise in the Legal 500, the ‘who’s who’ guide to the legal profession: Associate Rob Parker's 'business etiquette and service are simply superb'
