Kelly works with our clients on their employment law matters in Gill Brown’s team.
Kelly qualified in law with distinction in 2001 and trained as a barrister, completing her pupillage before joining a niche practice in Johannesburg in 2002 specialising in employment law. While practising in South Africa, she represented and advised a number of local and international corporations in the mining, retail, banking and chemical sectors on all aspects of employment law and practice and gained her experience in employment advocacy and litigation.
Kelly headed for Europe in 2005 and successfully completed her transfer exams while living in Belgium, enabling her to practise in the UK, then took a position at Shoosmiths before joining Phillips in 2007.
In her private life, Kelly treads the boards with the Hartley Arts Group; her last performances were in a variety show and as Prince Charming in the pantomime Cinderella. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends, travelling whenever and wherever possible and is mad about dogs, having three dachshunds of her own.
