"I have every confidence in Phillips' capabilities to look after my business and personal affairs. I like the relationships; I like to deal with real humans, face to face; and they give great service which is really important to me."
Philippe Allison, Hook

"We had a shocking experience with executors forced on us by a will writer, so we were heartily relieved when Sheila Glyn-Owen took on our case and rescued us from their clutches. Sheila was amazing, she sorted out my mother’s probate and we’ve now got properly drawn up wills". Keith Burgess, Basingstoke.

Sheila Glyn-OwenSheila qualified as a Barrister in 1973 and worked for the Lord Chancellor in the House of Lords. After 17 years’ bringing up a family, during which time she worked for British Forces Broadcasting as a journalist, Sheila re–qualified as a solicitor and was admitted in 1991. She joined Phillips in October 1992 and was appointed partner in 1993 (subsequently becoming a director on 1st April 2010). In the same year she was selected as Basingstoke’s First Business Woman of the Year in 1993. Sheila is a member of the Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners and the Law Society’s Probate Section.

Taking instructions for clients’ Wills involves finding out quite a lot about their personal circumstances and lifestyle; clients say they are surprised at how painless the whole process is. Special consideration is given when clients have been in previous partnerships, particularly if there are children involved. When clients are bereaved, they are at a particularly sensitive time and need Sheila’s reassurance as well as her sensible guide through the complexities of obtaining Grant of Probate and often in paying Inheritance Tax.

Sheila has been a keen sailor since the early 1970s and likes travelling (but not too spartanly) and loves cooking – the more exotic the better.
