GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE RUNNING IN SUNDAY’S PHILLIPS BASINGSTOKE HALF MARATHON
GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE RUNNING IN SUNDAY’S PHILLIPS BASINGSTOKE HALF MARATHON

2 October 2018

Good luck to everyone taking part in the Phillips Basingstoke Half Marathon, on Sunday October 7, especially those who are running with Team Phillips.

As the event’s headline sponsors we are fielding a team of more than 60 runners.

The event starts and finishes at War Memorial Park, where we will have our hospitality tent. This is where members of Team Phillips pick-up their Phillips T-shirt and race number.

The site will open for runners at 8.30am, with the actual race starting at 11am.

This year we are raising funds for Pelican Cancer Foundation, which is a fantastic charity doing a tremendous job is helping to fight ‘below the belt cancers,’ with regards to bowel, liver, prostate and bladder cancers.

From its base at The Ark Conference Centre, in the grounds of Basingstoke hospital, Pelican provides grass root funding for ground breaking research and produces and hosts training programmes. As a result of this work Pelican has had a significant impact on 11.8% of all UK cancer patients which is a truly amazing achievement.

Howard Gardener, Senior Director at Phillips said: “This is an opportunity for some serious fundraising.”

“Brendan Moran, my running partner and I, are Trustees of Pelican Cancer Foundation and so we are keen to raise as much money as we can for the charity, so please do so.”

“If we all raised £100 with some Gift Aid we could make a valuable contribution to Pelican.”

“See you on the day!”

Please show your support for this local charity and make a donation via our fundraising page.
