THE COUNTDOWN IS ON FOR THE PHILLIPS BASINGSTOKE HALF MARATHON AND 10K RUN
THE COUNTDOWN IS ON FOR THE PHILLIPS BASINGSTOKE HALF MARATHON AND 10K RUN

31 July 2021

The countdown is well and truly on for the Phillips Basingstoke Half Marathon and 10K Run, which is set to take place on Sunday 3 October.

This year promises to be extra special as it will be the postponed tenth anniversary of the popular event, following on from last year’s Virtual Races, held due to the pandemic.

As the event’s headline sponsors Phillips Solicitors will be fielding a team of more than 50 runners and hope to reclaim the first-place prizes in the Corporate team category.

We have been involved with the half marathon since the inaugural event in 2011 and have been the proud headline sponsor since 2014.

Organised by Destination Basingstoke, the event has built on a great reputation that puts it on a level with some of the great races in the south, while retaining a real community feel.

Both the Half Marathon and 10K Run start and finish at War Memorial Park, in the centre of Basingstoke.

The Half Marathon is a challenging course, passing through some beautiful countryside and the delightful villages of Cliddesden, Farleigh Wallop and Ellisfield.

The 10K Run will take place alongside the Half Marathon and will involve a less hilly route.

To help runners get ready for the Half Marathon and 10K Run, Destination Basingstoke have put together some helpful training programmes.

As usual, Phillips will be encouraging members of Team Phillips to raise money for our charity of the year, Sebastian’s Action Trust. The charity, which has a respite holiday home called The Bluebells, in North Waltham, just outside Basingstoke, provides emotional, social, and practical care for life-limited and life-threatened children and their families.

If you would like to show your support for Sebastian’s Action Trust, please visit our fundraising page by clicking here.

There is still time to take part in the event. Full details, including a sign-up form can be found by visiting www.destinationbasingstoke.co.uk/half-marathon/competition/

We wish everyone taking part in the Phillips Basingstoke Half Marathon and 10K Run good luck with their training!
